About Estate-Vest
We buy property in Cape Town and put it to work.
Estate-Vest buys property in Cape Town and puts it to work. Some of it we furnish and let by the night. Some of it we lease for six to twelve months. Some of it we buy under value, renovate properly, and sell on. The thread running through all three is the same: buy well, run it tightly, and treat the people who stay with us like the reason the business exists.
A small portfolio, run properly
Estate-Vest was registered in February 2024 and owns two apartments, both in Burgundy Estate on the northern edge of Cape Town. One is furnished and letting now. The second is being built, and transfers in 2027.
That is a deliberately short list. We would rather know two apartments well — what they cost to run, which weeks fill, what guests actually complain about — than hold a dozen and guess. Everything we learn on the first one is built into the second.
The three sides of the business feed each other. Short stays produce the cash flow. Longer lets smooth out the quiet months. Buying under value, renovating and selling on is where the capital comes from to buy the next one.

How we choose a property
It has to let all year
A place that only fills in December is a holiday house, not an investment. Burgundy Estate works because contractors, relocations and families all want it — in June as much as in January.
The numbers work before the renovation
We buy on what the property earns as it stands. If the case only holds together after an optimistic refurbishment, we walk.
We can actually run it
Everything we own is close enough to reach quickly. A burst geyser at midnight is a two-hour problem or a two-day one depending entirely on that.
